Academic Programs

The Office of Vice Provost for Academic Programs facilitates the planning and coordination of academic curriculum and programs, curriculum equity and inclusion, articulation, and institutional effectiveness and program evaluation. In addition, the office ensures the quality of curriculum and academic programs that provide a transformative learning experience for all students at The Beach.

Information about how course credits at California community colleges, UCs and other CSUs can be applied at ºÚÁÏÍø is available online through ASSIST, the official repository of articulation for California's colleges and universities.  ASSIST provides the most accurate and up-to-date information available about student transfer in California.

The Office of Program & Institutional Effectiveness (OPIE) in Academic Affairs is committed to promoting educational effectiveness through the complementary actions of annual institutional assessment (of Institutional Learning Outcomes and GE Learning Outcomes), periodic program review, and annual assessment of student learning. OPIE partners with staff from the Division of Student Affairs and Institutional Research & Analytics to provide and interpret meaningful data for the campus community.

ºÚÁÏÍø recognizes that learning occurs through various experiences beyond traditional classroom settings. As a result, it offers Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) opportunities that make it possible to earn academic credit for knowledge and skills acquired outside formal education. Only students already matriculated at ºÚÁÏÍø may seek CPL.
