Masters Program
MA in Education, Option in Educational Administration only
This option is primarily limited to international students who are not eligible for the Preliminary Administrative Services Credential. In addition, this option is available to private school educators who do not possess a valid California Teaching Credential. Candidates are only accepted if space permits after all qualified master鈥檚/credential or credential-only students have been admitted. Eligibility
- 3-5 years teaching experience
- 2.85 minimum GPA
Prerequisites
Prior to advancement to candidacy, all students must show evidence of completing the following courses or approved equivalents:
- EDP 400: Introduction to Educational Research (3 units)
Coursework (30-33 Units)
One of the following (3 units):
- SCAE 561: Urban Education Policy (3 units)
- SCAE 560: History of Social and Educational (In)equality (3 units)
- SCAE 564: Language and Educational Policies (3 units)
One of the following (3 units):
- EDP 520: Quantitative Research Methods in Education (3 units)
- EDP 595: Qualitative Research Methods (3 Units)
One of the following (3-6 units):
- EDAD 695: Master鈥檚 Research Study (3 units)
- EDAD 698: Master鈥檚 Thesis (6 units)
All of the following (24 units)
- EDAD 541: Leadership, Organizational Management, and Ethics
- EDAD 544: Legal Aspects of Education: Implications and Applications for School Leadership
- EDAD 647A: Fiscal Resources in Educational Administration
- EDAD 647B: Human Resources in Educational Administration
- EDAD 649: Urban and Community Leadership
