Jill Anderson is executive vice president, Operations, at Southern California Edison, one of the nation’s largest electric utilities. She leads many of SCE’s operations groups — including Transmission & Distribution, Customer Service, Safety, Security, and Business Resiliency, and Operational Services — and is responsible for safely delivering reliable, clean and affordable power to more than 15 million people in a 50,000-square-mile service area spanning Central, Coastal and Southern California.
Most recently, Anderson was senior vice president of Customer Service, responsible for overseeing the company’s customer products and services, business and residential customer account management, customer billing and credit, contact center operations, customer information systems re-platforming and competitive telecommunications business.
She also served as senior vice president of Strategic Planning and Power Supply at SCE, driving business strategy across the company and ensuring that the integrated planning to support California’s clean energy transformation remains closely aligned with the company’s procurement and dispatch of generation resources. She oversaw strategy, resource planning, energy procurement and management as well as the operations of SCE’s power generation fleet.
Previously, Anderson was executive vice president and chief commercial officer at the New York Power Authority (NYPA), the country’s largest state power organization. She directed all wholesale and retail operations, including the market operations of NYPA’s generation assets. She was responsible for customer sales, marketing, new products and technology, clean energy and transportation and energy-efficiency programs. Before this at NYPA, she led energy policy, sustainability, corporate communications, regulatory affairs and government relations departments.
Anderson has also worked for Hess Corporation, leading global process improvement projects. She started her career at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, leading teams responsible for natural gas and electric operations, redesign of the distribution system to integrate new technologies and electricity and natural gas procurement.
Anderson received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University.
