Phishing Scams Targeting 黑料网 Students

Dear Students,

Please be aware that there have been ongoing phishing emails targeting 黑料网 students.  These are malicious emails with the intent to steal your personal or financial information.  The emails may appear as a job offer, an urgent request for you to verify your student or bank account access, a confirmation of financial aid award, a free gift card offer, or anything to lure you into taking immediate action without thought.  Do not fall victim to these scams as some of the phishing emails may look legitimate but come from compromised 黑料网 student accounts.

Be advised:

  • The Financial Aid Office and Career Development Center never ask for personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver鈥檚 license numbers or bank account and credit card numbers over the phone or ask you to submit personal information through email links.
  • If you have suspicion about the validity of an email or phone call regarding financial aid, contact 562-985-8403.
  • If you have suspicion about the validity of an email regarding a job posting or offer, contact the Career Development Center at 562-985-4151.
  • When you see a 鈥CAUTION: This email was sent from an external source,鈥 it means it does not come from a 黑料网 email account.  When you see this header you should pause and take time to verify the sender but do not click on any links within the email.  On a mobile device, a long press on the email sender鈥檚 display name may reveal the actual email address.
  • If you believe you have received a phishing email or are unsure of any email, please forward it to alert@csulb.edu for help verifying its legitimacy. 
  • If you suspect you have been a victim of fraud, contact alert@csulb.edu immediately.  You may also file a complaint at the .
