Dr. Amr Morsy joined the ºÚÁÏÍø Department of Civil Engineering and Construction Engineering Management as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2022. Morsy obtained his B.Eng. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering from Cairo University in 2011 and 2013, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017. Prior to joining ºÚÁÏÍø, Morsy worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Texas at Austin in 2018, as a consulting geotechnical engineer from 2018 to 2020, and as a Research Associate at Loughborough University from 2020 to 2022.

Morsy’s research focuses on geotechnical infrastructure deterioration and asset management, climate change impacts on geotechnical and geoenvironmental infrastructure, geosynthetics applications in geotechnical engineering, and engineering solutions for sustainable built environment.
