Graduate Writing Retreat

The Graduate Writing Retreat is offered each Fall, Spring, and Summer semester and provides an intensive, full-day writing opportunity for students seeking a structured, quiet writing space with access to support from Graduate Center staff.

The Writing Retreat is ideal for students completing a thesis, seminar paper, dissertation, comp exam, independent study, class project, or any writing work that requires sustained focus. It is FREE and open to all graduate students and "post-bac"/CPaCE students, including those in credential, master's, certificate, and doctoral programs. However, registration is required.

The Writing Retreat takes place in the “Graduate Student Collaborative Space” (University Library 2nd Floor), which is closed to non-attendees, creating a quiet, distraction-free setting. The Graduate Center also serves refreshments, including lunch and dinner. Furthermore, Graduate Center staff, including the Graduate Writing Specialist, will be on hand all day to answer questions or help you overcome writing “roadblocks.”
