Appointments
UWC Is Open!
The University Writing Center is open for 45-minute writing tutoring appointments in-person and on Zoom!
Appointments can be made on by following these directions.
Email if you have any questions.
After students make an appointment, they will receive a confirmation email containing the Zoom meeting link.
We recommend that students have the writing assignment or prompt on hand as well as all the writing/thinking/notes that they have done thus far.
Students will need to share these materials with tutor through Zoom screen sharing, Google Docs, or OneDrive. (Papers cannot be emailed directly to tutors.)

In-person on-campus tutoring appointments are located in SSSC-245, the second floor of the Shakarian Student Success Center. Please refer to the linked campus map for help locating us.
Students are recommended to wear face masks at their in-person appointments.
We recommend that students have the writing assignment or prompt on hand as well as all the writing/thinking/notes that they have done thus far.
In order to minimize contact between student and tutor, please do NOT bring hard copies. Instead, please have e-versions of these materials on OneDrive, GoogleDocs, Microsoft Word Online, or on a USB drive.
In order to ensure fair access to the writing center, we adhere to the following rules regarding appointments:
- Students are limited to one appointment per day and a maximum of two per week.
- Students must cancel appointments at least 3 hours in advance.
- Students can email uwc@csulb.edu if they are running late. We can hold the appointment for up to 15 minutes.
- Students who do not show up for an appointment, who are more than 10 minutes late, or who cancel within 3 hours of their appointment will be considered 鈥淣o Shows.鈥
- Students who have accrued 2 No Shows in any given semester will be blocked from the online appointment scheduling system and will have to email uwc@csulb.edu to make appointments which can cause delays.
- Students who consistently fail to show up for appointments or cancel their appointments may lose their tutoring privileges.

If you need to cancel, please do so at least 3 hours before your scheduled appointment time by doing the following:
- Log into Single Sign On.
- Click on 鈥淏eachConnect鈥 chiclet.
- Locate the appointment under 鈥淐alendar鈥 or 鈥淎ppointments.鈥
- Click on the appointment you want to cancel.
- Click on 鈥淐ancel Appointment.鈥
