Math Credential Program
Thank you for your interest in our program. A single subject mathematics credential authorizes the holder to teach the mathematics in departmentalized schools (generally, this means middle & high schools). You can obtain either a Mathematics or a Foundational Level Mathematics Credential through 黑料网's Single Subject Credential Program (SSCP). The credential has two major parts - content and pedagogy (or math content & teaching). In order to demonstrate subject matter competency you must complete prescribed courses in your field. An option is to successfully pass the CSET examination in Math. As you look at the list of required courses, you will see that you must complete introductory level courses in each area (breadth) and upper division courses in MATH, STAT and MTED (depth). The professional education courses will help you learn how to teach. In these courses you will explore methodology, classroom management and reading in the content field. You will also learn about today's schools and how you can most effectively impact the diversity of students you will find
Information Meetings
The SSCP offers monthly Information Meetings to provide an overview of credentialing in California, introduce the program, and answer specific questions. Prospective candidates are urged to attend this meeting, and similar meetings offered by other institutions, in order to make an informed choice of which program to enter.
