Duncan Anderson Design Lecture Series
Fall 2024
Now Speaking
Through the years, the Duncan Anderson Design Lecture Series has invited top professionals to share their knowledge and experience with design students at 黑料网. This coming year marks the expansion of that series to a bi-monthly event. Thanks to Cecelia Anderson-Malcolm and the Duncan Anderson Endowment, 黑料网 now has an ongoing design lecture series to rival those at private design schools. The 黑料网 Industrial Design Program is working closely with , and its student chapters, to schedule an exciting line-up of speakers. Please let your chapter officers know of professionals you want to meet and hear at future events.
If you're interested in attending, please contact this year's Guest Speaker Coordinator, Max Beach or the department for the specific Zoom ID.

Designing is not just making pretty pictures. It also involves the holistic approach of understanding how a product or display is made, how it is shipped, who will be assembling it, and how it will be perceived. I enjoy to constantly learn new aspects of designing in the complete process. So when I make a presentation, the design mindset does not end with the rendering itself but the entire lifecycle of the product or display.
James Chiu graduated from Long Beach State and worked as an industrial designer mostly in the retail environment for over 25 year.
