Prospective Students

Undergraduate Programs

Note that acceptance into the Department of Design, either as an entering Freshman or as a Transfer Student, does not equate to automatic acceptance into the Upper Division design studio programs.

Prior to admittance into Junior and Senior studio courses (upper division), all students who wish to enter the Industrial Design (BS) or Interior Design (BFA) programs at ºÚÁÏÍø Department of Design, must successfully pass a completed portfolio review.

BA Design majors do not follow a Studio-based Upper Division program.

The portfolio review is a competitive review process. The portfolio is a document that includes work created in the first and second years of Pre-Design at California State University, Long Beach.

For guidelines specific to each major, please see the flow charts associated with your major of interest or intent on the right.
